English sounds different to Dutch. Both languages have different sounds, intonation patterns, and word stress. Speaking skills are one of the most important in a language. Unfortunately, little attention is given to this area in schools or colleges. I designed this course specifically for Dutch speakers of English with the aim of improving your English pronunciation.
An outline of the course would normally include the following topics:
- Grammar and tenses
- From spelling to sound
- Sound pairs
- Pronouncing numbers, place names and the alphabet
- Intonation and accent
- Word and sentence stress
